About MeI was born and raised in Odessa, Texas where I attended Permian High School. After high school, I decided to attend the great University of Texas at Austin. Hook em' Horns! At the end of my senior year of high school, I began dating Lukas Weeden who became my husband. We dated all throughout college and got engaged my senior year. This year we were both abundantly blessed with the opportunity to live and work in the Round Rock area. This picture is of me, Lukas and our 2 year old Husky named Jenna. We have recently added another little fur baby to our family, a 4 month old Husky named Valor. (Yes, you could say we're a little husky obsessed.)

Why did I become a teacher? |
My love and respect for the teaching profession was instilled in me clear from childhood. My mother was an educator for over 30 years and the positive impact she had on so many young lives was incredible. I knew instantly I wanted to have that same impact. I've always had a passion for writing and enjoy getting lost in a good book. My goal is to show my students the real relevance of reading and writing in our world today. Both subjects go hand in hand and will stay with them the rest of their lives. I am also coaching volleyball, basketball and track this year at Hopewell. I grew up in an incredibly competitive family and have been an athlete most of my life. I hope to teach my athletes this year what it means to have a strong work ethic and help develop the skills they'll need at the high school level.
This is my first year to teach in Round Rock, and I am beyond thrilled to be here! Prior to this position, I worked in Alvarado where I also taught Language Arts and coached volleyball, basketball and track. I look forward to a wonderful 2015 - 2016 school year at Hopewell. |
